Naxos Spoken Word Library

The Naxos Spoken Word Library is a streaming database of classical fiction and nonfiction audiobooks. Thousands of titles are available. Most are in English, but some titles are available in French and German as well. The website itself is not particularly visually appealing but has a good collection and several titles are available by different narrators and both abridged and unabridged. There are biographies available about the authors and a few other tools and links. Online, the player opens in a separate window. The player offers bookmarking, rewind and fast forward, and there is also text available to accompany the track you are listening to. An app is also available.

While this is a handy tool for libraries to subscribe to, it is not intuitively user friendly. I would likely suggest that someone visit Hoopla for audiobooks over Naxos because of the ease of use and many of the titles are available in both locations.
